As I log on everyday and scroll over the faction charter I always notice player's names I just can't pronounce or understand how the name even came about! So, I would like for everyone to have the chance to tell the guild how you came up with your character name. This isn't the role-playing story. It's what the name means to you! I guess what I'm trying to say is the real life story of how your name came about. So that everyone can understand what I'm trying to do here I will start.
Estemi \es-steh-me\ means "Protection" or to "Protect." Long ago when I played EverQuest 2 I wanted to make a Mystic Shaman. So, I wanted a name that would be clever and work well with my class. I found this name online and fell in love with it. I just can't remember what language it is! Now, I'm pretty known as Estemi (Este & Stemi for short) in the majority of games I play. It's worked well for all of my characters!!
So maybe there's more of a meaning or intersting story behind why you have your name(s). Sorry mine was kinda boring! ;D

Heh, I think mines pretty easy but I'll explain it anyway.
Escalorian \Es-Ka-Lore-Ian\ Has no real meaning to it, I just made it up whilst trying out characters when I started playing PWI. Wasnt something Id even planned on sticking with but I did anyway. I pretty much just mingled random strings of words together that I thought would sound nice.
Second character Escavante \Es-Ka-Van-Tay\ Also sort of random, want to stick with the beggining just to keep character recognition, changed the end slightly and merged it with "devante" and came up with Escavante. Again, just something to sound nice xD

Oboy. I have a lot of character names. Here we go.... Cilice \sih*LEECE\ Cili, for short, which I generally pronounce as \SEE*lee\ in my head. In actuality, this is a real name for an object used by ascetics of the Christian faith--the one I refer to is particular to a Roman Catholic Church division called the Prelature of Opus Dei. I was introduced to the object--and, thereby, the name--through the movie The DaVinci Code. The wonderful dichotomy of this name is that it sounds very soft and pretty, if you can put "feelings" to names as I can...yet, its actual meaning is somewhat disturbing. If you care to learn more about it, please click here for the Wikipedia entry on the object. At any rate, the reason I chose it for my cleric is because it sounded pretty, but was deceptive in meaning. Like a rose with thorns, so to speak. I'm a big fan of layers of meaning/whatever, so this name fits well. And, there's the added benefit of it being an object used by the purportedly heavily pious. If a cleric isn't pious; who is? Kierst \KEERST\ I dunno where I came up wit this name or how. Probably based somewhat on the idea of the name Kirstie, since I've always liked Kirstie Alley's name--how it was a unique twist on a very plain name. Originally, this was spelled Cierst, since I tend to lean toward Gaelic/Welsh style names, for whatever reason. Kobette \koh*BET\ I was trying to find a name that sort of went along with Kierst's name, since I had a sort of RP storyline going for Kierst and liked the idea of it. Since I was going to have a second BM female, I figured...why not make her Kierst's twin sister? And, so, I looked all over the place for K names, but nothing jumped out at me, so I brainstormed and looked at words to give my brain sounds to work with. Kobette is what emerged, though I originally thought to spell it Kobet, but felt it was too Egyptian and less feminine, in appearance. Khypre \KY*per\ This name was originally meant to be Chypre, which is a type of perfume scent that I enjoy. (Chypre is a French word and is actually pronounced "shee-preh" with the glottal "r".) I've very distinctive tastes in scents and chypres are pleasing to me. They're feminine, but not too sweet, and have a sort of elegance to them. So, that's why I decided to name my archer after the concept...but, unbelievably, someone already had it. >_< So, I changed the "c" to a "k" and altered the pronunciation. Vexerie \VEX*er*ee\ I've always loved the word "vex." In that old Kevin Costner movie "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves," the witch in cahoots with the Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman was fantastic, by the way) noticed he was throwing a tantrum and, once he'd stopped, she lifted her weird, milky eyes and innocently asked... "Something vexes thee?" It was hilarious and it sticks with me, always. So, I thought to myself... Venos can be infuriating witches. If I were to make an evil veno (one that will eventually go demon,) the name "Vex" would fit well, but wanted it to be more feminine. Then, when I added a sort of "Valerie" layer onto it, it clicked. Voila. Mechancete \meh*SHANSE*eh*teh\ More appropriately, this name is typed "Mechanceté," since it's a French word. Here, again, is a deceptively pretty-sounding word with a darker meaning. As I noted before, I'm drawn to things like that. In French, "mechanceté" means "spite" or "malice." A Canadian friend once asked me, "Why did you name yourself malice? You're too nice for that." I said, "I dunno; it just fit my idea for my wizard concept and sounded pretty." That's me, in a nutshell.
